IT'S JUST A THOUGHT
Every
Sunday morning our "Thought Sharers" prepare a word for us as an appetizer to
our spiritual meal of the day. Their goal is to share God's word with
everyone who will lend an ear while witnessing His holy name for the salvation
of all.

From Blanchie Gray-Mayes
And excerpt from
the Master Key to Riches, from Napolean Hill states, "that there
are two ways of relating one's self to life. One is playing the
horse while life rides. The other is that of becoming the rider
while life plays horse. The choice as to whether one becomes the
horse or rider, is the privilege of every person, but this is certain:
if one does not choose to become the rider of life, he is sure to be
forced to become the horse. Life either rides or is ridden.
It never stands still."
Those of us who
are Christians know that either way, whether we are the horse or the
rider, we will be okay as long as Jesus holds the reigns. Psalms
32:8 and part A of 32:9, "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way
in which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine own eye.
Be ye not as the horse, or the mule, which hath no understanding."
The thinking here is, LET GOD GUIDE!
It's Just a
Thought!

Gem number 127 of
George M. Lamsa's Gems of Wisdom reads, he who is aware of what he lacks
acquires more wisdom; but he who thinks he knows everything has no room
for improvement.
The Word in
Psalms 39:4, "LORD, make me know mine end, and the measure of my days,
what it is, that I may know how frail I am. " First Corinthians
8:1-2, "Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifies. And any man
think that he knoweth anything, knoweth nothing yet as he ought to
know." Now First John 5:13, "These things have I written unto you
that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye
have eternal life..."
Unless you know
Jesus, and what He did for you, what do you really know? It's just
a thought! |

How many times
have you dealt with persons who perhaps are on the bottom rung of the
ladder to success as the world sees it? These persons in their
dealings with you will make decisions as if they are the owners of the
company or at least the Chief Executive Officer. Their actions are
designed to show power asserting themselves to exalt themselves.
We all know that these persons have limited responsibility and virtually
no power.
Matthew 28:18,
"And Jesus came and spoke unto them saying, 'All power is given unto Me
in Heaven and in Earth'". The whole of Psalms 48 defines who has
the power and who is to be exalted. So before you let your anger
get the better of you, while dealing with those who have such little
power, remember to whom the ultimate power is invested; because these
persons in reality have just enough power to anger you, when you let
them. It's just a thought. |

From Justin Skillens (Youth)
There are 3 types
of people; those who make things
happen, those who watch things happen, and those who
wonder...what happened. Which one are you, it's just
a thought. |

What's in a word. We have heard that they have
the power to heal or hurt. Making someone smile, therefore,
changing the countenance because of our words is rewarding. In
1903 at the age of 35, W. E. Du Bois became one of the best known
African Americans in the nation. The vehicle which carried him to
this lofty position was written word. His, "The Soul of Black
Folk" had been published two months after his 35th birthday.
In St John 1:1 according to God's
Word, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. " St John 1:14, "And the Word was made
flesh and dwelt among us." Now I John 1:2 states, "For the Life
was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness and show unto you
that eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested unto us.
What's in a word? If that word is Jesus, there is Salvation.
It's just a thought. |

From Chrystie Whayne
As we celebrate
our 92nd church anniversary today, DON'T
GET IT TWISTED for we it is God's grace that we are saved through faith
- nothing else!"
This is the beginning of a new day.
God has given us this day to use as we will.
We can waste it or use it for good.
What we do today is very important because we are exchanging a day of
our lives for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving something in
its place we have traded for it.
So we want this day to be a day of gain, not loss....
Good, not evil.......
Success, not failure......
In order that we shall never forget the price Jesus paid for this day.

The Williams Brothers sing a song
which admonishes people to "sweep around your own front door, before you
try to sweep around mine." The WORD says, in Luke 6:41, "Why
beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not
the beam that is in thine own eye?" (KJV) And likewise, a similar phrase
has been uttered in Matthew 7:3, "And why beholdest thou the mote that
is in thy brother's eye but considerest not the beam that is in thine
own eye?" (KJV)
Removing
a spec from someone else's eye is difficult when there is a board in
yours. In my grandmother's day, we heard "tend to your own
business before taking care of your neighbors."
How
about taking care of what's yours and leaving mine alone. It's
just a thought. |
